Ligiana Costa studied lyric singing at the University of Brasilia, fell in love with baroque music and went to The Hague in Holland to specialise in baroque singing. From there she went to Italy where she took a master's degree in musical philology of the Renaissance and Middle Ages in Cremona and then to France, where she took a doctorate on baroque opera. At this time he started singing Brazilian music and soon after discovered a taste for composition. She performed several shows in France and Italy singing sambas until, after ten years in the old world, she returned to Brazil and released her first record, De amor e Mar, recorded between São Paulo, Paris and Brasilia. With this work she performed on various stages (from Dakar to Garanhuns, from Bulgaria to Brasilia). In 2013 Ligiana released the album Floresta, produced and arranged by maestro Letieres Leite and recorded in Salvador. Since 2015 Ligiana has been dedicating herself to her baroque electronic music duo, NU (Naked Universe), in partnership with Edson Secco. NU has toured Brazil, the United States and Europe and has two albums released, the most recent is called Atlântica and was released this year.

Ligiana signed the daily morning show on Cultura FM radio with a focus on classical music and crossovers and has published books linked to musicological studies by Unesp publishing house and taught courses on opera and voice throughout Brazil. She has recently concluded a post-doctoral degree at USP and published by EDUSP the result of her research, O Corego, awarded with the Flaiano Prize (2018) in Italy.Currently Ligiana presents and directs the podcast of Theatro Municipal de São Paulo. 

She released in 2020 the album EVA, produced by Dan Maia and entirely vocal. She has been performing with this work and was the only Brazilian artist to perform at the prestigious Namm's Global Livestream Show in 2021.
